So here is my dilema,

I want to set up a DVD workstation. Let's say I have 5 Pioneer external firewire DVD-R/RW burners. If I add a PCI card with 3 extra Firewire ports and connect all five drives to my G4, duplicate Toast 5 times, do a bus scan and select a different drive for each version of toast, can I write to all 5 drives at once? Roxio claims that this is possible depending on the speed of the source disc ( HDD). Well, if I get a SCSI 15K or 10K drive and burn from that, do you guys think that will do the trick? Or what about setting up a dedicated IDE raid with 2 7200 IDE drives? I'd like to know if this is possible before I go plunking money down on these burners.

Thanks!

Why not just get a duplicator. Down to about $1,745.00.

I'm not sure why you need to burn them all at once.

I would burn them at once so I can create more discs in a fraction of the time. I have heard mixed reviews of the Bravo.

I have seen those duplicators at work at CeBit in Hannover, some of them are really nifty, they have a magazine that holds 500 cdr/dvdr's and can print a label on the finished disk.

i've burned a DVD and a CD at the same time using toast. i'm sure it would work with a bunch of DVD drives.

I am interested in this because I would like to add 2 more external drives to my "back up" G4 quicksilver. I just bought a dual 2 G5 and decided I still love the look of my quicksilver, so why not make it a DVD burning center. I already have the built in superdrive and 2 pioneer 105 drives. I want to add more firewire ports and 2 more drives. I'll report back to you guys.
