Having been forced to sell my iMac 800 I've had to dig out my B&W G3 400 Rev 2 machine. It's been updated to a 30 gig drive and 512 MB memory. I'm actually not all that unhappy with it, it runs 10.2 pretty well.
But I do have the need for a CD burner. I'm looking for recommendations, specifically for an internal drive. I'd go Firewire but you pay so much more $$$ for the enclosure, etc. and obviously money is tight right now.
Thanks in advance!

During its life my B&W G3 has had 3 different burners in there:

Matshita (sorry forgot the number)
Yamaha CRW 2100E
Pioneer DVR A06 - mmmm Superdrive

I've got a crappy Rev A and they have all worked without any problem.
They where all bought as PC OEM parts with no Mac software so I have always relied on Toast.

Only bitch with a G3 is Apple deciding to make the bottom slot only big enough for a zip disk, there is plenty of space to have 2 drives!
Nothing to see, move along.

Update:

Found a good deal on a Sony CRX225E. Finder and iTunes don't like it, but thankfully Toast works with it just fine.

If I had seen your post earlier, I would have recommended exactly that drive. I've been using such a drive in a B&W 400, 10.2 and linux for over a year.

Yeah, it works sooo well...but then again, my last burner (besides the one in my iMac that I hardly used) was an old USB drive that I used with RedHat. Start burning a disc and go find something else to do for 20 minutes!
