Will a MDD CPU card work in a Gigabit Ethernet?

I'm bidding on a Apple Dual G4 1GHZ Processor card Apple part # 661-2730.

I've recently won a Gigabit Ethernet logic board.

The seller's auction says that it will only work in MDD machines. Whats up with that?

Voltage, bus speed, possibly. physical dimensions, heatsink could be big road blocks. Check the specs of both on Apple's support pages.

Yeah, the 167 MHz bus speed vs. 100 MHz bus speed could be a problem.

Crap. I really wanted a (at least) 1 GHz Dual. Guess I'll have to keep looking (hope I can get out of the auction!)

Retact your bid.

PowerLogix has a 100 MHz system bus speed version of the Dual 1 GHz G4 processors with 2 MB L3 cache per chip (rather then 1 MB like the one you bid on), but its $599.
