Hi All,

I installed a superdrive (DVR-104) a month ago into my DP 450. It was working great... until today. I inserted a zip into my computer and now everything is all banged up.

The zip wouldn't mount. Now CDs/DVD/s wont mount. They don't even show up under the devices in the system profiler. And I can't run any of my utilities because they run off of CD's.

If I shut down then restarted I was able to get them to work... for a minute, then they stopped being recognized by the computer.

I tried downloading the firmware update that Apple had on it's site but the installer doesn't sense the DVD Drive and won't install it. (However, I think it's just for computers with the DVR-103 anyway)

Any suggestions, or do you know of any utilities that may help? Thanks.

Make sure one is set as Master, and one is set as Slave!

Hope that helps,

Once thing's for sure, when I get a new G5 I sure am going to miss the SCSI on my beige G3.
