I've got a g4 450 Sawtooth (newbie switcher - first mac - love it! )
and i'm looking for a good cpu upgrade for fcp4, i'm looking at the OWC 1.2 ghz + Geforce 4 mx pack , will this bunt FCP4 along nicely or should i go for more power ( note, i'm on a limited buget ).

That is pack is looking good. It will about double the speed of your 450. (the G4s at 350-500 MHz have a short pipeline CPU so they are slightly more efficient per clock cycle than the faster ones.) Getting duals gets to close to the price of a new G5 and that kind of defeats the purpose
