i have ship date of 9/23 for my cto dual and my credit card was charged for the purchase amount as of last night.

Sweet! An Apple rep. told me they can't charge your card unless your system will ship out within 72 hours of the charge...hope it ships out soon for ya!

My order is supposed to ship on or before October 17 (Apple Developer Connection). A charge was put on my credit card today though the details haven't been updated yet.

Perhaps Apple is ahead of schedule with these shipments?

apple hit my card today also, but it just doesn't seem right. i ordered my CTO dualie on 8.18 and have a before or on 10.29 listed as my ship date, so it seems unlikely it will ship in next 3 days. time to call apple tomorrow. will update here when i find out. it is an edu order by the way.

They TRIED to charge my debit card today...didn't go though (daily limit).

Gonna call in the new card tomorrow.

I called the payment center today and they told me that it was just a routine payment "authorization" and not an actual charge...that kinda disapointed me. She said all she could tell me was my estimated ship date of 10/29.
I also ordered august 18th

so i talked to apple today and they said that it was just an authorization check and that my order was still scheduled to ship between Oct.7 and 29. there must be some weird stuff going down with these if they have that little idea on how many computers they will receive to ship out. that is a three week window and i ordered my computer a month ago, so they know exactly how many orders are before mine and still can't do any better than a 3-week range. either they just like screwing with loyal customers like myself, or there are bizarre production/supply issues that we are not being told about.

I called in my new payment method today. The rep I spoke with also gave me the oct 7-29th date. I never heard the 7th date before...they must have at least some other info other than the order status I can check.

I got SO excited when I got the email from apple saying they were charging my card. But when you consider it was EXACTLY one month after my order, it makes sense. I geuss they have to authorize payments that have just been sitting for a month.

I just checked mine and apple has made a request for the purchase, but it still has 5 days to go through, or be withdrawn from Apple.

I'm assuming this is the typical crap they do all the time? They'll remove it and continue to do this until they ship it? No?
