What are the advantages of Quartz Extreme? I was all disappointed when I couldn't take advantage of QE when I purchased Jag for my iMac DV. What was I missing (besides the cooler genie effect)?

Compositing is just better. Try to play a DVD and drag windows over it. It should look fine, whereas on a non-QE enabled machine (like my TiBook ) the picture gets greyed-out and edges are jagged. Basically just stuff like that. It just makes the user experience that much nicer.

But seriously, you didn't get a G5 just for QE, did you?

Nah, I bought it cuz my iMac has some funky problem that even the people at the Apple store couldn't solve- that and the fact that it has been 4 years since I have had a new computer.
