They are advertising a 2GB DDR 3200 kit for $650. That is by far the lowest I have seen for a 2GB kit. Any experiences ??? I want to load up my G5 with RAM, but not crappy ram.

I see little sense in buying 4GB worth of ram in 512 sticks if I can double that by using the 1GB sticks.

I don't know if its the RAM or the motherboard, but I finally got my G4 motherboard and RAM, CPU, video card, and HD from OWC today, but I can only get 1 of the 256 MB DIMMs to work at a time.

If I put a stick in the first slot, it won't POST I get hissing and then 3 beeps. It seems to work in the other 3 slots though, but if I try both sticks it may or may not POST, and a few times I got it to boot, but it locked up.

Going to have to do more testing.

Now this is truly bizarre. I had just installed OS X, and was running the updates, then shutdown, and decided to try the other stick again, and lo and behold it works and recognizes it.

Before I had booted from my iBook (firewire target mode) and go to System Profiler, and only one of the DIMMs was recognized, the other bank would say SDRAM empty. And after a little while it locked up. But now its working fine.

I'm going to try some of the RAM from my old Dellbox.

Except for the stock Apple RAM that came with my old school Twin Gig, all the rest is OWC, and I haven't had one single problem. I've been running this machine non-stop for more than a year now.

Plus, they offer a lifetime warrenty, so no risk, yes?
