I replaced the 16 meg ATI Rage Pro video card in my G4 with a new OEM nVidia 32 meg geForce4 AGP card purchased from OWC. These are "white box" Apple cards. Works fine in OS 10.2.6 and classic but if I attempt to boot into 9.2.2 directly, the system crashes with a black screen somewhere in the boot process. I've upgraded the drivers (extensions) to V3.0. Behaves the same with 2.4 or 3.0 with or without the ATI extensions turned off. With or without "extensions disabled". I understand that there was a geForce4 compatibility issue some time ago but I can't find anything that applies to my case. System: 2 year old Digital Audio G4 Power Mac, 384 Meg, 1GHz Sonnet G4 CPU upgrade, OS 10.2.6/9.2.2 on two internal drives. Anyone have a clue?
