I just picked up my dual g5 today at the apple store in NJ. They had 3 in stock and nobody noticed. I also picked up a 23in hd cinema display.

Once question is that I purchased the adc-dvi converter to attach my pc to the cinema display as well, but all I get is a black screen and the power button on the cinema display just blinks. Anyone know why and how to fix it? Thanks.

I have a radeon 9800 Pro. I read somewhere that radeon cards should be ok.

Hmm, are you sure it's config'd to output via the DVI-out and at 1920x1200 resolution?

sorry, it was a stupid mistake. The keyboard was slightly unplugged. Once I plugged it in, it worked fine. Looks pretty amazing considering its windows. Thanks.

Now the only thing I need to figure out is how to get both machines on the same cinema display without unhooking all the time.

I think the Dr. Bott Moniswitch works for 1 ADC display being shared by two computers. I haven't used it, personally. There may be others.

Good to hear you got it working!

The Gefen ADC Switcher allows you to switch 2 computers to the Display w/o unhooking wires.

Wow! I am so glad that I read this thread. I am under the impression that the ADC switcher would allow me to use both my Powerbook DVI and Power Mac Tower and one Cinema Display.

Is that right? Would I just be able to put the PowerBook to sleep, connect to the switcher, then wake from sleep?

It can't be that easy...Can it???

Whoops...I should have kept reading the website. It does work with a Power Mac and a PowerBook.

$450?!

No way. You could buy a second monitor for that... and maybe a new desk to hold both monitors.

OK, well, maybe not the desk part. But still, 450 bucks is ridiculous.

yeah, 450 is a little overboard.

The adc converter from apple only allows one computer at a time to be connected to a cinema display.

If anyone finds a less costly solution, please let us know. Thanks.
