i'm getting the 1.8 GHz G5 and i have a minidisc with optical out. i noticed that the G5 has an optical in, and was wondering, how can i take advantage of that? since the minidisc isn't supported on macs, is there a third-party program to allow me to import songs via optical or USB? or is this only for the 5.1 digital surround audio...

Presumably, the audio in will just work as such, be it analog or digital input.

So I guess you'll have to use some program (like CD Spin Doctor) to record from the input to a file.
