Got serious start up probs. with my old computer.
I think I screwed it up when the battery went dead on the logic board. I was trying all sorts of combinations holding down keys trying to force start up from one of the two hard drives.
New battery in and things seem to be operating but not displaying.
Start-up brings up all power to all devices but the very minute the disk shows up on the screen, hard drive with OS9 shuts down. Hard drive with OSX starts up then shuts down. End of story right there! Nothing more happens. Can't start up with CD either. Holding "C" key does nothing.
Is there any kind of trick by holding down certaqin keys to reset the logic board to factory defaults?

On the motherboard there is a TINY little circular black button that you can push to reset the motherboard. Try that. Other then that.... Reset the p-ram?

Many thanks for the info. I think I've seen that little black button. How do I reset the p-ram. I've only done that when using Tech Tool.

You press the button and that resets the motherboard to factory settings.

To reset the PRAM hold down Command + Option + P + R while you turn your Mac on. Continue to hold it until your Mac reboots, then let it reboot 3 to 5 times.
