How does one test the iMac USB connections? Does the Apple Hardware Test disc do that? Trying to determine if the iMac causing brief USB stoppages or my USB Hub.

I don't think the test disc will help for this. Is your USB hub powered? I generally have trouble with my (non-powered) Linksys USB hub, if I have too many things plugged into it, is why I asked.

You may have to swap out a couple of devices to see if that solves the problem. Start with any USB powered devices.

I posed this problem to local Apple Store genius bar tech. Gave him diagram of all devices hooked to my powered Belkin USB Hub. He indicated that the wireless mouse and USB printer could cause blibs if both being used at same time! He also said that the only USB test would be when the Hardware Test tests the Logic Board. Within the last several days, the wireless mouse went dead and I merely unplugged wireless mouse controller from USB Hub and replugged and mouse worked perfectly. About once every month or so I have to do the same for the iSub.
