Ok, so I want to get a new Mac, and my choice is the 1.42 DP G4 for under $2,000, actually $1,889 new, or the 1.6 or 1.8 G5. I really want a DP, but I can't afford the 2 GHz. So, I either wait for the next revision of the G5 and hope their is a cheaper dual processor, or get my other choices listed. BTW, the newest 1.25 DP is not an option as it is basically the first gen MDD, and if I'm going to get yesterday's technology, I would rather go with the most recent.

So, what's everyone's opinion here? Get the 1.42? The 1.6 or 1.8? Or wait for second revision G5. I like the G5 a lot, but its big, and the G4, well I just love the design. Of course, the G5 is so damn up to date. I just wish there was a mid range, or entry level dual. Damn...

I havent really looked at the specs or benchmarks of the new g5s vs g4s because im still happy with my DP867. I would probably get a 1.42 Dual and a nice display. Or a 1.8?????
