original post...

airborne lost my g5...

hi folks,

airborne lost my cto order from apple. it was picked up sat for noon monday delivery and it hasn't even arrived in nyc.

they don't know when and or if it will ever arrive so i will go to apple soho and just buy a stock one and upgrade as i go.

chung

edited for the new subject.

i ordered my dual on 6/23 via adc. i went through the trama of the dates pushing back etc...

i went to the apple store soho and purchased a stock dual with blue tooth dongle and an airport card.

brought to my studio and was about to open the box and got a call from airborne express stating they found the computer and it will be delivered in 5 hours.

i take the soho stock box back to the store for refund and they said i had to wait 2-3 weeks for my refund via check since i paid cash and it was a large amount of cash.

i told them that was bull$hit and unacceptable. i was not beligerent but i told them i didn't care what their policy was and they needed to make other accommodations.

apparently, it is their policy that any cash purchase over $200 has to be refunded via check through corporate.

a couple of managers huddled together and gave me a cash refund.

i installed my 2 additional gigs of crucial ram with no problems.

just fyi, be aware of their cash refund policies.

i will be doing batch image processing via photoshop 7 with the g5 plug in compared to a dual 1.25 with 2 gigs of ram if anyone is intererested in the results.

batch processing 4000 17mb jpeg files. auto levels, sharpening, saving and closing.

as always,

chung lee

"LOST" - LOL!
Right now there is a Airborne driver enjoying the fastest personal computer in the world...
I guess it would be a hudge temptation to see that box and leave it alone.

Sure, they "lost" it *lol* Well, as long as you won't have to pay for it...

Don't be surprised if the Airborne delivery guy just shows up at your doorstep.

I've had experiences when I've been told a shipment was lost and an hour latter it showed up at my door.
