Greetings Guys,

Now that I have my new Dual G5 hurray! What would be the cheapest way to get svideo/composit in on it? I plan to get a digital video camera eventually but I would like to be able to import some older video I have like say from a VCR.

Any ideas would be apriciated.

I own a Dazzle Hollywood DV Bridge. It works pretty well, is inexpensive and accepts S-Video or Composite video sources. You'll be able to use it with any video editing app such as iMovie or Final Cut Express. I don't think they make it anymore, though.

Not sure if it is the cheapest, but you can get an external "dazzle" thingy for $250.

Congrats on the dual.

I went with a Canopus ADVC-50.
http://www.canopus.us/US/products/AD...pm_advc-50.asp

I'm very happy with it. It plugs into a
PCI slot but only for power (no drivers
required). Video goes in on video connectors
and digital video comes out on a Firewire
connection (which you feed into your Mac's
Firewire port).

I bought it because it supports locked
audio. You will know what unlocked audio
is when you start experiencing your audio
slipping out of sync.

I found this one:

http://www.adstech.com/products/API_...sp?pid=API-550

Which runs for about $150. Anyone had any experience with it?
