Has anyone pre-ordered a dual G5 from Comp USA and received their machine yet? I know it is not the choice place to buy a Mac, but the store is close to me and the 18 months no payments no interest was pretty attractive. I also got them to give me a deal on a memory upgrade and Airport Extreme card plus a small business discount.

I preordered and it's "suppose" to be here the week of Oct 6. I've been waiting patiently. BTW another CUSA in my area has duals in stock not preorder so you might wanna go there. Concord CA.

I orderded it from the Overland Park Kansas store as a walk-in.

Fry's here in Houston has Duals in stock.

They certainly seem to be available now.

I took advantage of the Apples store 30 day test drive on a new G5. I traded it in for a dual machine last Thursday. Had a bout 3 days left.

The 1.8 was probably enough but I can probably squeeze another year out of the machine.

Of course, when the 3GHZ dualies arrive, I will want one, even if I do not need it.

I didn't place the order yet, I'm not handing over a penny before i see boxes in the store. I just call everday and ask to speak to the apple sales guy and ask him when they're showing up.

meaning they have arrived in-store for pickup from preorder customers?

I'm on a preorder list and maybe this could signal mine coming in today?

when did u get these in? Are they part of a preorder list or just general stock?

I'm trying to find a reason for why mine has not arrived yet. My order status online says "shipped" on Oct 2 but I have no idea really what that means.

any insight appreciated.

Yep, these are comming to the store and people with pre-orders are being called to pick them up. They only got two in initially.

UPDATE!!

October 8th

I just picked up my dualie from CompUSA.

Ordered Sept 14.

3 weeks total wait time.

There are (2) dual G5's at the Comp USA store in Modesto just waiting for you guys to pick them up.....we got 4 initially.

I got my pre-ordered G5 dual today. I walked in to the OP kansas COMP USA on 10/1 and placed the order and I am set up and running now.

Yep, it is awesome. I am going on 24 hours of usage and have not heard any of those symptoms.
