I was reading the specs for Panther and at the bottom it said that it was not compatible with upgrade cards. If this normal for a first build of a new OS? I don't remember if it is or not since it hasn't affected me in the past. Or maybe card producers have to make their cards compatible with the software?

This would certainly suck, though not a total surprise.

Are there no beta testers out there with upgrade cards?

This is what Apple says on all there MacOS systems, don't they. They said that for MacOS 10.1 and Jaguar.

Apple isn't in the business of upgrades so they don't test it on machines with upgrades. It's up to the upgrade companies to make their upgrades compatible with Panther and test/certify that they work with Panther, not Apple's.

This has already been discussed. I am running Panther on a GigaDesigns 1 GHZ and a flashed 8500.
