I've started having problems when re-burning CD-RW disks. A brand new disk that has been written to seems to have difficulty with erasing and writing new data.
I use disk utility to erase the disk (have to uncheck "Quick Erase" since my car mp3 player won't recognize them). Sometimes it stops after a minute or so and has not done anything. Eventually it will erase the disk.
Then I try to burn new data to it with iTunes. It gets midway through and ejects the disk because of "disk failure." Sound familiar to anyone? A new disk fresh out of the packing will write fine, its only when I try to re-write that it has problems.
CD-Rs have no problems. Could it be the erasing of the disk that is messing it up? Or could my drive be whacked?
