I was wondering if anyone had worked out how to use use an ATX or other power supply instead of the standard Apple one.
Now I am aware of the fact that the Quicksilver since it had ADC has a different power supply, as noted by this piece on xlr8yourmac
I have had three quotes for replacements + labour and none of them is reasonable. If anyone has or knows how to getting a replacement PSU please reply.
I doubt it's impossible. From what I know some of the connectors are possibly reversed (there's a ground pin reversed with another pin on apple's sawtooth power supply, for example)...
I doubt that changed. In addition there's an aux jack for power.
I thought I had a dead powersupply too. Is it really dead? Hit the little red button next to the battery on the motherboard a few times and I was able to power it on again. There is a technote somewhere on apple's site about the quicksilver and how it has this problem occasionally. Good luck.
