i recently acquired one of these machines and was under the impression that the maximum amount of RAM i could install was 1.5 GB. i went ahead and maxed it out and i realized that when i check Apple System Profiler it tells me there is one DIMM slot available.


am i missing something or is there a super secret hidden J24 RAM slot somewhere that is invisible?

damn, i should have added more to the title of this thread. something like oddness or inconsistant. i looked on the logic board and i can't even find a "J24" label anywhere on it.

for the digital audio models, they took out a RAM slot, and put in an extra PCI slot. i guess ASP still thinks it's there, maybe it's still on the mobo, but with no connector.

so your max RAM is only 1.5 GB. i have a sawtooth, and i have 4 RAM slots, for a max of 2.0 GB, but i only have 3 PCI slots, instead 4 like you.
