I have run across an Apple remote control in "never used, always contained in the plastic wrapper" condition. Does anyone know if this is worth holding onto? Maybe worth a couple of bucks on eBay?

Is it black, about 5 inches long and 2 inches wide? (I'm guessing at the dimensions as I don't have mine here right now). I bought one once to use with my performa 6400 to control the CD player remotely. Unfortunately soon after I entered the mp3 world and the remote became useless. The remote doesn't do much and it certainly won't work in OS X with any Macs. You could try selling it for a couple bucks. I definitely spent too much on the one I bought a few years back. Maybe there's someone else out there who will do the same.

I still have one from an old PowerMac 6500...

Oddly enough the do have a use other than with your Mac... They will control Sony Televisions!
