Hi guys,
My advisor just replaced his old 450 MHz Cube for a brand new G5 1.6 MHz loaded with 1 GB RAM.
Since he is a "computer-handicaped" kind of guy, he asked me to help him to choose the right computer. We agreed that the low end G5 should be more than enough (he is not even close to a power user). Later, he asked me to remove the Cube from his desk and later install the G5, transfering all his data, etc. Since he is a novice in OS X, I gave him a short-course tutorial about Jag, etc.
I must say that I was super impressed with the massive new G5s. They look powerfull (although I know the 1.6, at best, would equal a dual G4 1.25 ). Everything in this machine breaths high quality standards, but...
Who the heck designed the CD/DVD loading system unit . It is noisy, too fast, and feels cheap...
I hope they fix it for revision B.
I hope I get the Cube though...
