If, lets say, I have a GE 400MHz...is it possible to replace the 400MHz CPU with a 867MHz from a Quicksilver?

Will I still have a 100MHz bus or 133MHz?

You can buy cpu upgrades from Powerlogix and Gigadesigns designed to be drop in replacements. Your system bus speed will remain unchanged.

I don't know whether the connector/pinout is the same or not on the Apple cpu's. You might have trouble securing it and the heatsink to the motherboard even if it is.

I think it might work...if it weren't for the port that's directly next to the CPU. Its in the way of the "excess" of the 867MHz processor. Oh well, guess I'll have to wait 'til I have more money.
