after the talk my mother had on tuesday with the good people at apple who stated that my G5 would be shipping by the end of the week i decided that that was all good untill now.

its the end of the week here (they said weekends on fri) and no move on the shipping front so the call went in again today by mother and she was told that they were waiting on the key board ok i guess ill wait

however when i was calling up only 2-3 hours later about my iBook batery i decided to double check with the shipping and was told:
there could have been a problem on the production line so they have to start again wait a little longer.

so my conclusion is wait till mid week next week which is the date the guy gave mom his morning. then call up and let rip big time

any one agree this is an ok strategy?
Ps i no that this is just another whiney little thread on boo hoo wheres my machine but i have nothing better to do so...

They seem to just be slow at filling all there orders. I gave up and bought mine the Apple store.

You sound like your getting the old "Insert random excuse here" method of support.

Better than what I had been getting they would never answer my emails.

They still never answered me about the 10.3 update.

All I can say is it will be worth the wait and that I'm glad I didn't have to wait till my October 30th Shipdate. They probalby would have delayed it.

I really don;t like buying from the Applestore online or over the phone for this very reason... it is far too easy for them to BS you.

They pulled a similar stunt with my Tibook... I went on the phone after a few weeks and had a go a them and they shipped one the same day... but it as a real hassle.

If I can I go to a store, only here inn the Uk there are no Applestores and you can only get the HE discount through Apple direct...

If you have an Applestore near you, and you won't lose out price wise I would go there...

Good luck with it, I'm sure it will be worth it in the end...

I wish my Mommy would call Apple for me, and buy me a G5, yell at them, and whatever else.

I can't believe they are still having these delays this late in the game. At this point, I think a lot of customers have some valid complaints. The announcement was so long ago now, it's really time that Apple kept up with demand. Hopefully by the end of the year (far too long in my opinion), this will be the case.

Time to learn it was the

Apple //e

and that the Apple ][ and Apple ][+ predated it.

It's the little things...
