I found a G4 tower with a 2x superdrive, 1.25 of ram for 800 bucks on the web.

Seems like a great deal.

what do you think?

Is that fast enough for FCP 4?

It's fast enough. I ran FCP3 on a 933 for a time, and it was swell.

Good deal.
I am stupidest when I try to be funny.

The value will differ between a Quicksilver and MDD. The quicksilver 867 are bringing over 1000 on ebay, and the MDD a little less I think. So yeah, that's a pretty good deal

From the pic and specs I have given, it's the original Quicksilver.

so that means it has an ADC and VGA connector.

Can someone explain the difference between

VGA, ADC, and DVI?

I think I get it.

Anyway, would the 15 inch apple monitors that are on e-bay work with this system?

Thank you.

ADC is Apple Display Connector and works with any of Apple's LCD's.

DVI is Digital Video Interface (probably) and it works with more of the higher-end CRT's and LCD's on the market.

VGA is good old analog, and is what every other CRT and LCD has as a connector.
