I have a motorola G3/400 processor that has been pulled out of a Blue&White G3, which has since been replaced with a Sonnet G4/500. I also have a Beige G3/233, which I installed the G3/400 into, hoping for a speed boost. It felt a little faster booting, but I didn't time anything, so I don't know for sure. However, if I go into "About this Mac" on the beige, it claims that it's a 233mhz G3. Is this a jumper issue? If so, how should I set the jumpers, as I know this processor is the same one used in the blue&white 450's, so handling 350+mhz shouldn't be a problem... And cooling's not an issue, as I have quite the windtunnel fan system in there... It's not an issue of whether the machine will accept the processor or not, because the processor is in there right now. It's if I can get it running at 350-400mhz without sacrificing stability, as it did run this fast in the blue&white.

Thanks,

according to:

http://forums.xlr8yourmac.com/action...91&-search

you can if you change the jumper block...

You'll have to change the multiplier and front side bus from 4 * 100 to 6* 66 but then I don't see why it wont work.

Actually, i'm looking to put a OEM G4/350 in a Beige G3/266 but I can't find any info on that...

Anyone?
