Just received my Panther upgrade (10:40 a.m. PDT). No box, just the disks, an Installation and Setup Guide, a Welcome to Panther booklet, the license agreement, and proof-of-purchase coupons.

Does it also include the Developer Tools? I am getting the Up to Date for my G4 and want to know if the Dev tools are included.

The upgrade comes with four CDs: - Mac OS X Panther Version 10.3 Install Disc 1 Upgrade Disc
- Mac OS X Panther Version 10.3 Install Disc 2
- Mac OS X Panther Version 10.3 Install Disc 3
- Mac OS X Xcode Tools Install Disc
As you can see, the first disc has "Upgrade Disk" printed on it. They are black discs and the Apple logo is cut out so the reflective CD shines through. The Developer disc is white and has the Xcode logo on it.

Can the upgrade disc be used as a full install though? I got my discs this afternoon, but had to rush to work before opening it all up.
Tonight I want to wipe my drive clean and start fresh this year with Panther again.

It sure can. I got mine yesterday morning. Wiped one of my 150GB drives in my Dual G5 (gloat) clean, did a nice fresh install, no problems.
Though I do think that all the eye candy that surrounds an icon when you select it is totally ridiculous.

Yeah, i answered my own question late last night when I upgraded my Dual G5 w/ Dual 17"ers (Double Gloat ).
I like the extra eye candy surrounding the app icons.
Is it just me or is my machine so fast that I just don't notice any speed improvements? It seems just as fast as Jag-wire did. On my iBook, I noticed a big difference in the GUI's responsiveness.
Oh yeah, the ability to just do Expose over and over and over w/o any lag rocks.

Yes but does it check for a 10.2 install before it works.

Ah, can anyone give me the link to where I can order the Panther upgrade? I cannot find it in Apple's website. I just upgraded to a 12" PB yesterday.
