blackbird;

I don't consider it to be punk to be excited enough to post about something we've all been waiting for for MONTHS!

I share your glee; just got my G5 an hour ago...and I'm DANG happy about it!

Pretty sure you can use the internet to register your Mac...it runs you through all that stuff at the beginning..you can have the Mac call up to the Mother Ship and send all your electronic info and you're registered..

Just to explain, it's a pretty standard running joke to say something like "just so you know, I hate you" jokingly when someone gets a really nice setup (i.e. nicer than yours). No insult was intended, I'm sure.

Yes, you can install Panther first. It will still prompt you to register afterward when you start up the first time.

And no you aren't eligible for another copy of Panther.

this is what i'm talking about:
For Power Mac G5 systems
Customers who purchase a qualifying new Power Mac G5 (M9020LL/A, M9031LL/A, M9032LL/A) regardless of purchase date that does not have Mac OS X Panther v10.3 included can upgrade to Mac OS X Panther.

i beleive i have one of those systems, and as i said, it DIDN'T come w/ panther

i have a copy i ordered alone, my g5 didn;t come w/ it, i need another copy anyway for another computer

UPDATE: just checked it said i qualified
