I've got it on an 800Mhz iMac, and it feels snappier on that. I love it!!
Why is there always money for war, but none for education?

I have the 800mhz Superdrive eMac with Geforce 2mx and it is much snappier with Panther. Definetely worth the $129.

Not really what you wanted to hear but this may help.
I have just upgraded to Panther on my 600MHz iBook with 384Mb of ram and I have noticed a fair leap in speed from Jaguar. Its a lot snappier at finder level and also opens apps a lot faster.
As my iBook only has a G3 and the eMac/iMac both have G4's I'd imagine the difference in speed would be more noticeable on G4 Macs.
Just my 2 cents.

If my rev A iMac saw a significant performace increase, I'm willing to bet you will too. Upgrade, Panther is all it's cracked up to be. Just make sure you don't have any firewire drives hooked up when you do....
