So, I got my dual G5, threw it on the table, fired it up.

Open the Superdrive door... "clack!" the superdrive door hits the upper edge of the opening. Hmm.

So I examine the situation, and it seems that the spring loaded door presses the drive tray up into the upper edges. It crashes into it, and then it gets pressed upwards.

No sweat. Fixed with a pack of rolling papers. Smooth and unimpeded operation of the drive door is mine!

Nice case though...

There were a couple of reports about this on www.macintouch.com a couple of days ago. Misalignment at the factory. They just opened up the side of the machine and adjusted something or other.

make sure you get it fixed within a year though.

Many people have been able to fix it permanently themselves.

Ok, the McClintock papers were not befitting such a fine machine as the dual G5. I put my team to work, and we have now implemented Version 2 of the fix.

Much better looking and the dark colors clash less with the case.

What is the fix? The door is spring loaded and presses the drive tray upwards. I don't want that kind of pressure on my drive door every time I open the thing.

Crack the side open and you should be able to see how to resit the thing.
