Switching from a Combo Drive stocked configs Power Mac G4 Dual 1.25GHz to a PowerBook G4 1.25GHz SuperDrive, do you think it is a downgrade?

Sort of a silly question, right? I mean, presumably your doing this because you need a portable computer for productivity reasons or because owning a sexy Powerbook might get you more sex than usual, right? In which case, you're making a move based on priorities in your own life.

Obviously the dual is faster for apps that are faster on duals and is more expandable.... obviously you can bring the Powerbook to and fro and hither and yon with greater ease.

There are trade-offs, but the only computer worth owning is the one you actually use. It's only a downgrade if you're going to end up using it less.

Yeah, do you need the portability?

The dual G4 desktop is CHEAPER and FASTER and cheaper to upgrade video, ram and hard drives.
