Using iTunes 4.1 and Panther, burning a music CD hung on the "finishing" message in the status bar. Waited 20 minutes, and then tried to force-quit, but system completely unresponsive.... no mouse click or keystroke was recognized.
So I used the Interrupt button on my mini-tower, and now the CD is stuck in teh drive. No icon for the CD appears in the sidebar, nor in iTunes
So far I tried to get it out by:
1)Eject button on keyboard and in iTunes
2)Restarting holding the mouse button down. No effect. I'm using MS's Intellimouse Explorer.... could that be why this didn't work?
3)Using Open Firmware (system hung again after the "eject cd" command)
4) the paper clip method, but I'm not sure I'm doing it correctly. I see a hole for the zip drive, but not for the CD drive. I can get a paper clip in the left side seam, but it slides in too easily-- no resistance.
Any other ideas? Should I be opening the case at this point?
Thanks!
