I'm having a hard time setting a well calibrated profile for my 17" iMac. If any of you out there have a fairly well calibrated profile a 17" iMac, please send it my way.

You might want to try SuperCal. It's a much more detailed screen calibration tool that works equally well with CRTs and LCDs. Look on Versiontracker for it.

I don't have a flat panel iMac so I can't help you with that.

Since we perceive colour in different ways and screens vary to some degree, there isn't really a universal profile.
