I purchased a 900MHz Powerlogix PowerForce Processor Upgrade. The jumper settings were described in detail, however, no indication was given as to the direction of jumpers 1-6 or which way was on or off. Long story short, trying the 4 possibilities on two seperate occasions required taking the processor in and 10+ times. End result, I can't get the old processor to reboot.

Any great ideas out there or am I SOL and need to start looking for a new motherboard?

Rev 1 350MHz B&W G3

All help and sympathy appreciated!

BTW Powerlogix support SUCKS!

I can see 4 possibilities (any of which may be the cause, or even a combination of them):

- fried mobo
- needs mobo reset
- jumpers are on wrong
- old CPU got damaged during/after removal

Buy mobo reset, are you referring to the CUDA reset switch?

There are no jumpers on the original 350 MHz processor so that isn't an issue.

Anyone ever tried to service a ZIF socket (take it apart to make sure the contacts are all functioning?
