This happened mostly in OS X 10.2 and now it's happening in 10.3 also.
iMac DV 600 with apple keyboard and logitech mouse.

The mac has no other problems, but sometimes, and it's not possible to recreate parameters that causes the problem, it happens totally randomly no matter what we're doing, it could be playing Diablo II, or editing in Photoshop, writing in Textedit or Mail.

The mouse freezes, so at the begining we thought that the imac just locked up and hard rebooted it everytime, but the next time we realised that it was not locked, the clock was still working and only the mouse and keyboard stopped functionning.

So from then on, when the problem happens we just unplug and plug the keyboard from the USB port and usually it works the 1st time, sometimes we have to do it 2-3 times.

Having the mouse plugged into the usb port or the keyboard does'nt seem to change anything, the problem still persists.

Now I'm trying another keyboard and mouse from another mac, to see if the problem stems from those peripherals.

Anyone got any pointer? Is the motherboard having problems?

Thanks in advance.

I've had some of the same issues;
Sometimes when my iMac (600) should return from sleep, there are no reaction when I click the (pro) mouse or the (pro) keyboard. I can unplug the keyboard and the mouse, and reconnect, but nothing happends, so a hard reset is the only solution.
The problem happend while not having the mac connected to broardband, because I was moving, but when I got the mac connected again, it haven't happend since.
