Does anyone know if a Radeon 7500 Mac edition OEM (probably nicked from a Quicksilver) will work in my 400MHz Sawtooth?
The quicksilver has an AGP 4x with the USB connector, whereas my sawtooth has AGP 2x without USB. Will the drivers or firmware complain? Has anyone tried this?

Barney.

I have never heard of a radeon 7500 mac OEM video card. I know AGP4X cards will underclock/whatever when used in an AGP 2x system.

Whatever you do, don't try a GeForce ANYTHING card in your Sawtooth with Panther. It will not work (do a search).

Otherwise, I still cannot answer your question. Search the Xlr8yourmac.com forums for more info on your question.

I think the 7500 was only sold in Europe. I have seen people mention it before but none of them ever seemed to be in the US. And I have only heard about problems with GeForce4 MXs having problems in Sawtooths under Panther. But do your research before you buy.

correct me if i'm wrong, but if it's an OEM from a quicksilver, that means it has and ADC port, which would mean that the AGP slot has an extra connector for the 30V needed to power the ADC; sawtooth motherboards don't support AGP cards with ADC.
