My G5 just started doing a chirping noise? Does anyone no what that is?

There are a few old threads about it, you might want to do a search. Also check the Apple discussion boards.

The short answer is that we don't know exactly what causes it but it's normal, although you can install a system preference that'll get rid of it. Do a search for "chirp" or "CHUD".

I went through the same thing but have found that I no longer notice it.

Whats up with that? I was only asking im new to these boards my question did not need a smart a@# remark.

Without making you do the search, you can download Apple CHUD Tools 3.0.1 at http://www.versiontracker.com/php/dl...3.0.1.dmg.bin.

After installing the CHUD.pkg, go to System Preferences. Select "Hardware" (lower left corner of window).

Make sure the radio box to the right of "Power" (labeled "Nap") is de-selected.

This will instantly make the chirping go away!
