I installed a Pioneer DVR-104 drive in place of my stock combo drive. It works grate for burning cds and dvds. The problem is it only allows me to burn dvds at 1x speeds. I have updated the firmware to the latest one, and still only get the choice for 1x burning in toast. I am sure I am using 2x certified media. Anyone have any thoughts on what could be up?

Here is the Apple System profiler info on my drive:

PIONEER DVD-RW DVR-104:

Manufacturer: PIONEER
Model: PIONEER DVD-RW DVR-104
Revision: 1.40
Serial Number: BEDL040785WL
Drive Type: CD-RW/DVD-RW
Disc Burning: Apple Supported/Shipped
Removable Media: Yes
Detachable Drive: No
Protocol: ATAPI
Unit Number: 0
Socket Type: Internal

What app are you using to burn the DVD's? Is it consistently 1x for Toast, iDVD, Finder, etc. or just one of them?
