I don't really know how to read the results, but from what I can gather, it seems that the G5 2.0 (gcc 3.3, g77) is faster than the Itanium 900 (icc, ifc 7.1), Xeon 2.8 (icc, ifc 7.1), and Opteron 246 2.0 (gcc 3.3, g77). (And of course, the G4 733 (gcc 3.1, g77) runs like crap.)

It would be interesting to see the results of FFT on the G5 using xlc and xlf.

interesting that it beat them both even though both using well optimized compilers in GCC and ICC which create great Opteron and Xeon code. More than likely the XLC or XLF would make a huge difference again
I will mail the guy and ask him to publish bench's with IBM compiler.
