Does anyone know the best way to connect a Gamecube up to a Power Mac G5? I know a lot of games support progressive scan and wide screen, so I was wondering if a Cinema Display would support this. Perhaps even bypass the G5 all together and hook it up straight to the Cinema Display? I ask this b/c I don't want to have to buy a TV and it'd be cool to have everything centered around my G5. Thanks.

Well, I cen help you with the process of elimination. I've tried using my Formac TVR box, and it doesn't work (too much delay).
"And in other news, Lando Griffin, a popular student at a local high school, was killed last night when his motorcycle careened off Dead Man's Curve. Police were baffled when no body was found at the scene, but they decided it was best not to ask questions and just let everyone get on with their lives."

Even if you can work this out, you may not get the results you want.

Dunno about gamecube, but SOME Xbox games support a high resolution of 720 lines of resolution on a hd tv... your cinema display is gonna smoke that.

Console games take full advantage of the lack of resolution available on TVs. TVs have a certain amount of anti aliasing due to lack of picture quality. Keep in mind that modern consoles can crank polygons, but they're doing it at a lower resolution... which translates to faster game play.

Having a killer monitor displaying console games is just going to show the relative lack of graphical quality inherent in console gaming.

Not to knock consoles. I play games on consoles, and do computer oriented stuff on my Macs. each has its strengths.
Curse your sudden but inevitable betrayal!
