I just picked up a couple of 512MB sticks from Crucial to throw in my G5.
I was wondering if it's a bad idea to mix RAM. Should I remove my 256MB Apple sticks?

Shouldn't be a problem. The more ram, the merrier. The only time I can think of where keeping all your ram the same brand is if it takes advantage of interleaving, but there aren't many computers that do that nowadays.
