Has anyone elese noticed that it has footprint for another processor? Gigadesigns has stated that it will enter the dual processor upgrade market if they can press the price under 800 dollars and it seems they have done it. They haven't announced anything yet though.

And the size of the card is amazing also. Only the same size as the origina SP-cards so it will fit in any computer. One thing questioning me is the thermal density of the card if there are two procs installed. For me it seems like they have to use 7457 version to handle the heat. Density on the card is much higher than in Apple's of PL's processor cards.

I hope they do use the 7457 - double the L2 cache (512KB vs 256KB) gives a major performance boost as shown on Apple's latest G4 PowerBooks. Those use the 7447 which also has double size L2 cache but doesn't allow for L3 cache. So a single or dual 7457 with L3 gives you the best performance possible since it has both double size L2 + fast L3 caches.

I'm a huge fan of GigaDesigns. I upgraded my DATower with one of their 1.4/1.467GHz Gcellerators and it works great - including deep sleep mode! I can't wait for them to roll out their dual processor upgrades!........joe

These proc upgrades do not require any software, correct? Plug and play? I only ask because it seems with the frequency of apple's os upgrades, I would hate to be left in the cold on the next revision because my proc didn't work-
