i've had my G5 for over a month, i didn't have money to blow on a new moinitor, so i used a compaq vga monitor with my G5 via the adaptor,
well after a month, its working fine, but sometimes when i restart or wake my computer from sleep, it seems to "forget its supposed to be in 1024x768 res and goes to 800x600 instead, and when i go correcting it in sys prefs, it has the res and refresh alll in one list instead of res in a list and refresh rates in a dropdown menu
also sometime it'll start up in 800x600 and when i log in, it'll fortunately go back to 1024x768

There's a good chance that would make a difference, and if you've already paid for it, why not? You can just do an upgrade and not lose anything you have (presumably, always backup of course!).
