I've been getting weird results from DDR 2700 333mhz 512mb chips in a number of MDD G4 models — the ram will fail the hardware test and subsquently mess up the machine while it's running or not even register at all. All of these ram chips I've worked with seem fine in 1.6ghz G5 units.

The chips are from Kingston and "Value Ram" whatever that means. Heh.

Anyone else experience this lil' problem?
Yose.

That's strange. I bet Kingston has a good warranty program, right?

I bought a pair of Crucial RAM module for my DP 1.25 MDD... no problem as far (I think.. since I have trouble on my AirPort Extreme and not sure if it is related to bad RAM.)

My machine shipped with a Crucial-brand 256MB module.
