The onboard NIC card is bad on my cousins G4 Quicksilver 733 and I want to know what compatible brands of PCI NIC cards are compatible...I searched CompUsa and all say for PC but not MAC. Anyone out there have a compitble PCI NIC card in their machine they can recommend that works with OS X .2.x ?
Thanks

I have a PCI Ethernet card.. 10Mbit. It is made by Farallon (now Proxim?)
It works with Jaguar and Panther, I tried it on my MDD PowerMac.
I am happy to sell you one if it fits your need.

Almost any el-cheapo 10/100 PCI card made for PCs will work -- they're almost all based on the Realtek 8139 chip. But they need a Mac driver -- which Realtek is nice enough to provide (currently listed are drivers for 8.5-9.x and 10.0-10.2.x)!

I have the D-Link DFE-530TX+ in my old 7600 running 10.2.8. You need to download the latest drivers from the web sit:
http://www.dlink.com/products/?pid=122
I found this at a local office supply store for $5 after a $10 rebate.
