That should be the OEM Radeon 7500 (32 MB) that shipped in the Quicksilver 2002 800 MHz system.

Specs (152 KB)

This card was OEM-only, ATi never released a retail 7500 for the Mac.

Thanks. That helps. In actual use the card is quite, ah if I may say so, "snappy." And it works with Panther unlike the OEM Geforcw 4MX I bought from OWC. Thanks again.

Ummm...., the ATI Radeon 8500 Mac Edition in my PowerMac is reported as ATY R200 in System Profile (64 MB VRAM though).

However, the Radeon 7500 in my iBook is reported as ATY, RageM7.

Is ATI trying to make things difficult?

No, ATI isn't trying to make things difficult, the Radeon 7500 in your iBook is the mobile version (the reason for the RageM7) and is somewhat different from the desktop version.

ie. there is the Radeon 7500, the desktop version, and the Radeon 7500 Mobility, the laptop version.

In ATI nomenclature, the "R" in the part number stands for Radeon, and the "V" stands for Value...

The Radeon 8500 is the R200, and the less expensive variant is the RV200. The same system holds true for the current ATI cards...
