Yes, but where are you going to put it? (One guy fastened it to the optical drive and it seems to fit and work with no probs.)

there are 4 positions in the g4 QS 2002 box (on the bottom), 1 main + 1 at top of the main drive + 2 drive positions which apple says "for scsi drives", one on the bottom in the middle, one on the bottom under the cdrom/zip bays.

and of course 5th position is under the cdrom, in zip bay, if it is not used.. but it seems to me, that there is no space for the air cooling..

I have a Digital Audio 533 G4 with a 3rd hard drive in the zip drive bay. Only downside is that it runs on the slower bus, the same one as the CDRW/Superdrive. I think it's a ATA-33 bus whereas the hard drive bus is ATA-66. Don't quote me on the specs!

The only downside I've found is it's definitely slower than my other 2 hard drives. It doesn't really matter to me though, because I use it for backing up files only.

As far as heat goes, I've noticed no problems. It's been installed under the optical drive for at least 2 years with no problems.

HTH.

Sorry, I thought you were talking about the G5. Some guy installed a 3rd hard drive in the G5 on top of the optical drive.
