Just experienced a rythmic "click click" "click click" coming from inside the computer and then the beachball starts spinning forcing me to reset the eMac. Has anyone experienced such a thing? The "click click" doesn't stop until I shut down manually. It's very rythmic.

Should I start to worry cause it's done this 3 times tonight.

I occasionally get whirring sounds from my eMac, but no crashes that accompany them so I suspect that's in order. Does it sound like it's coming from the monitor (upper) or the motherboard (lower) area of the computer?

That might be a symptom of impending hard drive failure. This would be a good time to back up your data, just in case.

Yeah, that's definitely the hard drive. Back up all your data, STAT. Call Apple if you're still under warranty and get a replacement. If you aren't still under warranty, well... take it as a sign from god that he wants you to have a 150 gig drive instead of a 60. He wants you to be HAPPY.
