Greetings!

How would one use scsi drives (+ scsi card) with a G5?

How would you mount the HDs with the plastic cover? Does it get in the way?

Any experiences would be greatly appreciated!

First you need a voltage compatable SCSI card. Stick that into your PCI slot. Then you just mount the HD like you'd mount any other. Stick it in the HD bracket and run the SCSI ribbon from the HD to the card, set your SCSI ID.

Thanks for the help, but I meant .......

does it mount properly in the HD mount in the G5 with the ribbons instead of the SATA cables? Does it block airflow or mess up the internal mounting of the G5?

Ah. Well in that case... I don't know.

It's all about external drives as far as SCSI and G5 are concerned. Unless you use an LVD320 controller SATA drives will probably end up being faster.
